Important access information
There is no entry to Boomerang via the B4192 from Chilton Foliat, all horse vehicles must access from the north.
Do not rely on sat nav to bring you the correct way.

Directions to Boomerang Stables
From Hungerford or A4 (South)
- From Hungerford, take the A338 towards the M4 (near the Shell garage mini roundabout)
- Go under the M4 bridge
- Turn left onto the B4000 towards Lambourn
- After approximately 3½ miles, turn left signposted Membury Industrial Estate / Membury / Ramsbury
- Follow this road for approximately 1 mile, through the industrial estate and past Walker Logistics
- About ⅓ of a mile after Walker Logistics, the road bends sharply left — turn right (this appears straight on), signposted Boomerang Stables & Carisbrooke Stud
- Continue to follow the signs to Boomerang Stables and Carisbrooke Stud
- After the driveway of Carisbrooke Stud, the road dog-legs and Boomerang Stables is approximately 250 metres on the left
From the M4
Directions from the M4
- After the driveway of Carisbrooke Stud the road does a dog leg and Boomerang is approximately 250m on the left.
- From the M4 exit at junction 14 Take the A338 towards Wantage
- Turn left onto B4000 towards Lambourn After approximately 3 1/2 miles turn left signposted Membury
industrial estate/ Membury and Ramsbury - Follow this road for approximately 1 mile through the industrial estate and past Walker Logistics.
- Approximately 1/3 of a mile after Walker Logistics the road does a 90-degree bend to the left. Turn right (which looks straight on) it is signposted Boomerang Stables and Carisbrooke Stud
- Continue to follow the signs to Boomerang Stables and Carisbrooke Stud.
From Swindon / A419
Directions from Swindon /A419
- After the driveway of Carisbrooke Stud the road does a dog leg and Boomerang is approximately 250m on the left.
- Off the Great Western Hospital roundabout on the A419, take 2nd exit B4192 (Purley Road.)
- Go through Liddington and over the top of the M4 and take the next left The Ridgeway.
- Turn Right Baydon Road.
- Follow Baydon Road (which becomes Ermin Street) through Baydon.
- Turn Right to Membury Industrial Estate/Ramsbury
- Follow this road for approximately 1 mile through the industrial estate and past Walker Logistics.
- Approximately 1/3 of a mile after Walker Logistics the road does a 90 degree bend to the left. Turn right (which looks straight on) it is signposted Boomerang Stables and Carisbrooke Stud.
- Continue to follow the signs to Boomerang Stables and Carisbrooke Stud.
Bookings & Payments
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes. All arena hire and cross-country sessions must be pre-booked through our online booking system. If you are experience any problems or are un able to use the website please contact Lucy on 07771900537.
Can I turn up and pay on the day?
No, we do not accept walk-ins. All sessions must be booked and paid for in advance or contact must be made with Lucy on 07771900537 prior to arrival.
Can I change or cancel my booking?
Yes. You may change your booking free of charge up to 4 hours before your session. Refunds are available minus a £5 admin fee if cancelled outside the 4-hour window. Cancellations within 4 hours are non-refundable and non-transferable.

What happens if Boomerang Stables has to cancel?
If we cancel due to weather, ground conditions or unforeseen circumstances, you will be offered a full refund or a rebooking coupon.
How do I pay for my booking?
All online bookings are paid for securely via PayPal. If you are unable to use PayPal or experience any difficulties, please contact Lucy on 07771900537, who will be happy to assist with alternative payment methods.
Are your prices inclusive of VAT?
Yes. Boomerang Stables is VAT registered, and all prices shown are inclusive of VAT at the prevailing rate, unless otherwise stated.
Can I have a VAT receipt?
Yes. A VAT receipt is available on request. Please contact us after making your booking.
Arena Hire (Wombat & Joey)
Is the arena private?
Yes. Arena bookings are for exclusive use. The arena will not be shared with other customers during your session.
Is there a limit on the number of horses?
There is no set horse limit, provided all horses are under your control and the arena is used safely and respectfully.
Can I move jumps?
The course layout must not be changed without permission. All jumps must be returned neatly and to 90cm–1m before you leave.
Can I lunge in the arena?
No, lunging is not permitted in the arenas.
Cross-Country Schooling
Is cross-country shared?
Yes. Cross-country schooling runs as shared sessions with controlled numbers for safety.
Do I have to jump everything?
No. All jumps are optional. Riders must choose fences appropriate to their own and their horse’s ability.
What do the coloured tips mean?
White – suitable for all levels
Yellow – novice and above
Green – intermediate and above
Can I school on my own?
No lone riding is permitted. If you are unable to bring someone with you, please contact us in advance and, where possible, we will arrange for someone to oversee your session.
Can fences be moved?
By prior arrangement, selected fences may be re-positioned by Russ to create specific questions or support training goals. Please call Russ on 07711499596 prior to arrival.
Safety & Rules
What equipment is required for cross-country?
A suitable riding hat and body protector must be worn at all times when mounted on the cross-country course.
Are children allowed to school cross-country?
Yes, but any rider aged 12 or under must be under the instruction of a qualified and insured instructor. Parental supervision is not acceptable unless suitably qualified.
What should I do if my horse loses a shoe?
Please report it immediately, especially if lost in or around the water complex to one of the boomerang staff. If you can’t find anyone, please call Lucy on 07771900537
What should I do if I break a fence?
Report all breakages to one of the boomerang staff immediately. If you can’t find anyone, please call Lucy on 07771900537
Clinics & Instructors
Can instructors run clinics at Boomerang Stables?
Yes. We welcome instructors and coaches who wish to host clinics here. Please contact us to discuss availability and hire.
Do you provide instructors?
No. Boomerang Stables provides facilities only. Riders arrange their own instructors unless attending an advertised clinic.

Where are you based?
Boomerang Stables is based in West Berkshire, close to the Lambourn / Newbury area. Full directions are provided on our Contact page.
What happens in bad weather?
Facilities remain open unless we deem conditions unsafe. Any closures will be announced, and affected bookings will be refunded or credited.
What happens if I get lost?

Can I bring my dog with me?
Yes dogs are welcome at boomerang but they must be kept on a lead at all times.
